I hate breakups! I honestly can't think of something that causes more internal pain or feeling of hopelessness - they just downright suck! And you can't help but wonder how to get over a breakup and move one because you just want that awful feeling to go away!
With breakups, especially when they are unexpected, it seems like our whole world is turned upside down. We're so used to living with this special person in our lives that when they are no longer there, we are left wondering how the heck we can move on.
For anyone wondering how to get over a breakup, the first thing to remember is that this feeling that you have will go away. I know it's so cliche - but time will make it better!
That pit in your stomach and the constant thoughts of the person will drift away - I promise you that. The pain is real, but it's not here to stay!
With any relationship comes routine. As I mentioned earlier much of the pain and emotion from a breakup is brought on because you're so used to having someone in your life and the activities and routines that you fall into with that person. When all of a sudden they're gone, you are often left with a lot of empty time.
This is when it's time to find a new routine!
You have to find a new way of life to a certain degree. And I know - this sounds daunting!
But it's exciting! You're probably thinking that I'm crazy for saying that, but it's true - and although the breakup hurts right now, it won't be long before you begin to see what I mean.
so here's what to do if you're wondering how to get over a breakup - reinvent yourself!
Ok, that might be a bit of an exaggeration :) But it's along the right lines.....
First off, go out an exercise if you aren't doing so already. If you're already into fitness, keep at it and maybe try out something new to add to your fitness routine.
Exercise is proven to make you feel happier and it sure helps your apperance and feeling of wellbeing. This is SO important!
Next, why not try a new haircut or look to upgrade your wardrobe? When you take little steps to make yourself more attractive, you can't help but feel better.
So go to a professional salon and ask them to give you a new hairdo. They can work their magic and make you look amazing!
In terms of your wardrobe, if your budget allows it, go out and grab a few new items. It might sound shallow, but you'll be amazed how much it can boost your confidence.
Ultimately, you want to start doing things to fill your time. Exercise should be in there. Hanging out with friends is another one. Start a new hobby or activity that puts you around other people.
As an example my friend joined a running club and guess what - he met a new girl there!
You want to find new things to get excited about and a new routine so that you quickly see that you WILL be ok. Life will go on and you'll find happiness again!
